I have been through a lots of wedding preparations with couples throughout my years of works as a Fengshui Master. Lots and lots of people do not understand the reasons behind An Chuang and just follows the need to do it and do it. So What actually is An Chuang and how does it affect a wedding and its relationship:-
An Chuang (安床）
It is a process that set your new bed into your house to symbol the stability and growth of your relationship and most importantly the ability to have off spring in the coming years. However, as times changes the an chuang has evolved to many many different customs and methods.
Traditional, as couple stay with their parent. their parent in order to blessed the couple with off spring will create a room within their house to set in a new family. The bed and the room will be consider and xin fang (新房） and xin chuang (新床). This is a blessing from the parent of the groom side to have a blessed marriage.
Those who has engaged my service before will understand that An Chuang is normally a act carry out by the groom parent.
The procedure changes with different customs and dialet group. however, for selection of a kid to jump on the bed is practice throughout by all couple. It actually give a blessing to the bed and to have a good relationship.
